How You And I Save Animals

Hi, I’m Eleni, I’m the founder of Rhodes Avenue, a jewellery brand that’s more than just timeless accessories —it’s a movement to help animals in need. 10% of our profits are donated to animal rescue shelters every quarter (3 months). Here’s the story of why this cause is so close to my heart.

 

Why?

Growing up, Greece was like a second home to me, a place of beauty but unfortunately, a large population of stray cats and dogs. Even as a young child, I noticed how many animals roamed the streets, often in poor condition. One memory stands out in particular: walking home with my family, we found a small kitten tied up in a bag. This heart-breaking moment at such a young age made me realise that not all animals are loved. Thankfully, we were able to rescue her, name her Pickle, and our relatives in Greece gave her a loving home.

Over the years, I visited shelters in Greece and saw how hard they work. It’s a constant struggle to find the resources they need, and sometimes stray dogs don’t get saved in time. Seeing all of this up close made me want to help in any way I could.

 

Meet Willow:

Willow, my puppy (she’s actually 10 lol) is another major inspiration behind Rhodes Avenue’s mission. Once a stray, Willow was eventually rescued and became a part of our family. Even though she’s been with us for nine years. it is so sad to think about her life before us and I want to ensure that animals not only survive but have a safe, loving life, and Willow reminds me every day of why this work matters.

 

How Rhodes Avenue Makes a Difference

Most animal shelters rely on donations and volunteers, with vet bills, food, and shelter costs piling up quickly. At Rhodes Avenue, I believe that if there’s a way to support these shelters and help give animals a second chance, I will. Every three months, we’ll calculate our profits, and 10% of that amount will be donated to different animal rescue shelters worldwide.

 

Our very first donation is coming up on December 31, 2024, and I’m beyond excited to take this step with you. When you purchase a piece from Rhodes Avenue, you’re not just buying jewellery—you’re helping to save stray animals and giving them a chance at a better life.
